Would Christ Support Embryonic Stem Cell Research?

Supporting blastocystic stem cell research is the responsible pro-life position to take. As Senator Orrin Hatch has stated, nothing is more pro-life than protecting the living.

The Bible supports healing and gives us tools such as medicine and medical technology to use to our healing benefit.

I Corinthians 3:9-11

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

We are God’s fellow workers. Stem cell technology used to create healing is part of God’s perfect plan and we have the privilege to carefully use the knowledge and abilities he gives us. As with any power it can be misused and abused. To not use this technology to help others would be a great abuse of power.

We all know someone suffering from an incurable disease or disability which stem cell research might alleviate or heal.

The Good Samaritan would do whatever it took to help others.

It would be like leaving an invalid in the ditch and passing by on our self-righteous way not to support blastocystic stem cell research.

What would Jesus do? He wouldn’t leave a donkey in the ditch on the Sabbath—even if it broke the moral code of the day! He surely wouldn't ignore the cries of humanity who are begging for a cure or treatment that might be found in stem cell research.

Wow, what an intriguing post. Indeed we do all know someone (perhaps even ourselves) who can benefit from stem cell research! And in this world of WWJD, you do have to wonder where He would stand on such an issue. Some might argue that He would simply have performed the miracle of healing...yet how are we so sure He hasn't by making stem cell research a promising cure for so many? You keep after it, Yvonne! And more power to ya! Good luck with your book.

Awareness comes in many forms. Your work strikes a cord of awareness and turns on the light of connection. Consciousness finds many different ways of expression and your book is an example of that fact. Through your work there will be new direction and acceptance for this wonderful discovery.
Thanks for visiting my blog Yvonne, I appreciate you and your comments.
